Ryan Wells Professionally
Ryan Wells is a keynote speaker and writer on the issues and complexities of mental illness. His primary focus is reducing stigma and raising awareness in a way that educates and inspires the audience. Some topics that Ryan covers are:
Dissociative Identity Disorder
Borderline Personality Disorder
Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Having started at twenty-one years of age, Ryan has more than 6 years of experience. He has presented in corporate environments, along with communities, and within mental health clinician’s space.
Ryan has presented around Australia in 4 states and has written articles for Better Mental Health Magazine. He is now primarily based in Brisbane, Queensland.
Hi, my name is Ryan, I am a transgender non-binary guy, twenty-seven, located in Brisbane, Australia! I am an artist, poet, singer, guitarist, and gamer, both tabletop and video games. I love playing Dungeons and Dragons and spend a fair amount of time in the DnD world.
I am currently on the tail end of a bridging course through ACU to be able to study psychology, which is my dream. More specifically I am going to be a trauma focused clinical psychologist, specialised in Dissociative Identity Disorder. I have had this dream since I was ten years old (although it was not as specific back then), it drives me.
I have an array of mental illnesses: Dissociative Identity Disorder, Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Dysthymia, and Anxiety. I also have Autism. But what is in a label, society says that we need to fit into boxes, into categories. Humans do not belong in boxes because everyone is unique.
